Pig breeding makes a significant contribution to the economy of the Ivanovo region

According to the Department of Agriculture and Food of the Ivanovo Region, in the first quarter of 2021, the production of pigs for slaughter in live weight in the region amounted to 2.3 thousand tons, which is four times higher than last year. The main growth was provided by agricultural enterprises

For the whole of 2020, the production of pigs in farms of all categories of the region amounted to 3 thousand tons.

According to the forecast of the department, the production of pig products in 2021 in the region will more than triple to 9 thousand tons, while ensuring veterinary well-being.

The increase in the production of pigs for slaughter in live weight was mainly due to the commissioning in December 2020 of the Petrovsky livestock breeding complex of the Tarbaevo company in the Gavrilovo-Posadsky district. it is made in the form of a closed-type farm, built using modern technologies and operates in accordance with the requirements of environmental safety and veterinary control. Production capacity - 7.2 thousand tons of pig MEAT per year in live weight.

Currently, Tarbaevo is building a second similar complex in the Gavrilovo-Posad district near the village of Yaryshevo. The implementation of two projects will increase the production of pigs for slaughter in live weight up to 17.2 thousand tons of meat per year.

In order to attract investments at the expense of the Fund for the Development of Monotowns, a motor road was built to the Petrovsky livestock complex in 2020, the amount of financial support for the monoterritory amounted to 59.4 million rubles.

It should be noted that in RUSSIA as a whole in 2020, the production of pigs in live weight increased by 8.9% to 5.5 million tons. For the first three months of this year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture, this figure amounted to 1.3 million tons (+0.5%). According to the forecast of the department, the production of pig products in 2021 will increase by more than 4% while ensuring veterinary well-being.
