Nutritionist, TV and radio host Alexei Kovalkov died at the age of 62, people close to the DOCTOR told RBC.

As NEWS.ru reports, Kovalkov has been battling an oncological disease for the past two years. The publication did not specify what kind.

Alexey Kovalkov was born on April 19, 1962 in Moscow. He studied at the 2nd Moscow Order of Lenin State Medical Institute named after N.I. Pirogov (now the Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University) in the medical faculty, and in 2006 he completed retraining in dietetics. He became the author of a weight loss method and, thanks to the diet method he developed, was able to independently lose 80 kg in seven months, the publication notes. Kovalkov hosted the program "Family Size" on "Domashniy" and also posted his videos on YouTube.

In April 2010, the doctor was among the three most sought-after dietitians in Moscow according to FORBES magazine . Kovalkov is also the author of the book "How to Lose Weight: A Strategy for Victory over Weight."
