The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation approved the rules for industrial veterinary pharmacies

The rules contain requirements for the manufacture of medicines for animals. So, for the production of veterinary drugs, only registered medicinal substances and pharmaceutical substances can be used. Production veterinary pharmacies are prohibited from using drugs in the manufacture of medicines, the use of which is limited by the law on biosafety. Also, veterinary pharmacies do not have the right to produce drugs that are already registered in RUSSIA.

The rules set out the requirements for the premises and equipment used for the manufacture of veterinary drugs, sterilization standards and intra-pharmacy control.

The preparations made in the veterinary pharmacy are dispensed only by prescription or at the request of the livestock enterprise.

A phased entry into force of the new rules is envisaged. A number of provisions of the order will come into force on September 1, 2023, and another part of the requirements will come into force on March 1, 2025.
