"We are preparing for trips to CHINA, in particular Urumqi and Beijing, where we will meet with the Minister of Agriculture and the leadership of the General Administration of Customs of China , and discuss the opening of MEAT EXPORT markets. Similar negotiations are planned with RUSSIA. I will keep you informed," the HEAD said. Ministry of Agriculture.
Regarding the visit of the OIE experts, he noted that in the next week they will be evaluating the effectiveness of the veterinary service and will visit farms in the regions. The experts have already inspected one veterinary laboratory, the National Reference Center and the Anti-Epizootic Detachment. According to the minister, the experts noted the sufficient level of equipment and professionalism of the employees.
Yerbol Karashukeev also met with the OIE experts to discuss measures for the prevention and elimination of dangerous animal viruses.
"For us, such visits are very significant. We get tremendous experience, valuable recommendations from leading international experts, the very direction in which we need to move in order to obtain the appropriate status of a country. We all know that the status of being free from certain animal diseases allows our farmers to export their products and contributes to the development of the country's animal husbandry," he stressed.
Kazakhstan annually produces more than a million tons of meat of all kinds, but additional markets are needed for the development of animal husbandry. Now veterinary restrictions do not allow selling live cattle and meat products for export , including to Russia, China or European countries. Therefore, the Ministry of Agriculture is carrying out large-scale work on epizootic well-being and the development of the veterinary service.
"Following the results of the visit, the commission will give its opinion. We are waiting for the results," the head of the Ministry of Agriculture concluded.
Earlier it was reported that experts from the World Organization for Animal HEALTH arrived in Kazakhstan to assess the effectiveness of the veterinary service and the program for the control and fight against foot-and-mouth disease and classical swine fever. The delegation includes highly qualified specialists representing six countries of the world.
