June 25, MINSK. Food will rise in price, the demand for it will increase. Alexander Subbotin, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, stated this in the ATN project "Question number one" on the TV channel, BelTA informs.

Commenting on the EXPORT supplies of food under the sanctions, the HEAD of the northern region noted that the agricultural enterprises of the region manage to find new buyers to sell to foreign markets. “It has historically happened in the world that sanctions have never touched pharmaceutical products and food. This time it almost happened, but even where the supply chains are broken, there are detours. All these efforts to find alternative supply channels simply lead to that food is becoming a little more expensive, and the end consumer is getting a little less of it," said Alexander Subbotin.

According to him, Belarus is on the right track, because it also relies on food. "Food will rise in price, the demand for it will increase. I think that our farmers will be able to earn on this," the chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee concluded.

The program noted that Belarus ranks first in the EAEU in terms of agricultural production per capita. In addition, the country is one of the five world suppliers of dairy products. It ranks third in butter, fourth in cheese and fifth in MILK powder. Today, there are 116 states in the export piggy bank of our country.
