The presence of non-dairy fats is the most common violation in the production of butter. In second place in terms of type of violations is labeling inconsistency. Such data became known as a result of the work of the State Food and Consumer Service to combat food falsification in the first quarter of 2021, according to the website of the department.

“Food products bought by Ukrainian consumers must be safe and meet all legal standards and requirements. We must protect consumers. Work in this direction will only intensify,” emphasized the Chairman of the State Food and Consumer Service Vladislava Magaletska. As a result, more than 31 tons of products were withdrawn from circulation.

Most seized:

milk and dairy products (over 6 tons) fish (4.7 tons) poultry MEAT (3.3 tons) meat and meat products (over 2 tons).

Also, 49 decisions were made to suspend the circulation of food products. 11 cases were transferred to law enforcement agencies. Fines were issued in the amount of more than 1.6 million hryvnias.

Earlier, Vladislava Magaletskaya said that the main reform of the State Food and Consumer Service is its transformation into a modern, transparent and convenient service that will protect both the state and business and every consumer. The responsibility of the State Food and Consumer Service includes, in particular, countering the falsification of food products.
