ROSSELKHOZNADZOR specialists examined a batch of frozen broiler chickens that arrived at a hospital in Primorye. Dangerous bacteria found in poultry MEAT.

According to the press service of the department, the medical institution received the product from a company from Kislovodsk. In the laboratory, a batch of chickens was recognized as of poor quality, since non-spore-bearing Salmonella bacteria were detected in it.

They are well preserved in meat for up to a year and are able to actively multiply in it, while not changing the appearance of the product. Freezing food does not affect the viability of these bacteria. They also remain viable when smoked, salted, but die when boiled or thoroughly heat treated in another way.

The results of the research were entered into the Vesta automated system (AS) in the field of veterinary medicine, and also sent to the territorial departments of the Rosselkhoznadzor and other departments throughout the country.

The manufacturer of the product was obliged to prevent quality violations during production. Also, experts reported about salmonella to the hospital, where the chickens were admitted. HEALTH facility managers can return unsafe meat to the supplier or send it for disposal.
