October 23, Brest. Brest Oblast is constantly expanding capacity to increase food production. This information was announced by Deputy Chairman of the Brest Oblast Executive Committee, Mikhail Batsenko, during a press tour dedicated to ensuring food security in the Union State, a BELTA correspondent reports.

"Our level of self-sufficiency in basic agricultural products across all types exceeds 100%, including six times for MILK, almost four times for vegetables and potatoes, and almost twice for MEAT and eggs. Brest Oblast leads the republic in per capita production of milk, vegetables, fruits, and berries," noted Mikhail Batsenko.

Brest Oblast supplies food to consumers not only in the domestic Belarusian market but also exports significant volumes to RUSSIA. The deputy chairman of the regional executive committee noted that Moscow and St. Petersburg are two large distribution centers where warehouses are located. Many companies there have dealers who distribute Belarusian food products throughout Russia.

"We're ready to feed everyone, basically. We have ambitious plans," said Mikhail Batsenko. He emphasized that all products are processed in the Brest region. Companies are currently expanding production capacity, for example, in Baranovichi, Bereza, and Brest.

"Regarding food products, we are constantly improving, constantly increasing the production of both primary products (milk, meat), and, accordingly, processed products. It's gratifying that everything we produce is also processed here. We obtain goods with high added value. And the production culture is currently at a high level," said Mikhail Batsenko. He added that processing plants in the Brest region are rapidly introducing automation and robotic systems into their production processes.

Journalists from Russian federal and regional media are visiting the Brest region on a press tour. In particular, they toured the production facilities and tasted products from the Kobrin Butter and CHEESE FACTORY. We visited one of the leading farms in the Brest region, OAO Belovezhsky, and were impressed by the natural beauty of the Belovezhskaya Pushcha National Park.
