USDA weekly data showed 13,458 tons of beef EXPORT sales for the week ending March 30. That's 20% more than the week before, but still 2.4,000 less than the 3-week average. South Korea was the main buyer. Accumulated liabilities for beef amounted to 359.5 thousand tons as of March 30.

Wholesale prices for USDA block-packed beef Thursday were $1.03 higher for Choice meats and $1.53 lower for Select. As a result, the Chc/Sel spread remained at $13.02. The US Department of Agriculture estimated the slaughter of cattle at 488,000 heads through Thursday.
