The Office of the ROSSELKHOZNADZOR for the Republic of Mordovia and the Penza Region informs that for the current period of 2023, 59 outbreaks of influenza among birds (mainly gulls) have been recorded in the Russian Federation.
Specialists of the Department of State Veterinary Supervision in the Penza Region for the 2nd quarter of 2023 in the Penza Region, as part of federal monitoring, selected and sent for researchfor avian influenza in the testing laboratories subordinate to the Rosselkhoznadzor 478 samples from birds, including wild and synanthropic species: Saratov branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “ARRIAH” - 285 samples (250 samples of blood serum by RTHA/ELISA and 35 samples of pathological material); FGBU "ARRIAH", Vladimir - 193 samples (60 samples of pathological material by PCR and 133 samples of blood serum by ELISA/RTHA). The results are negative.
As part of the regional monitoring, the Penza Regional Veterinary Laboratory examined 8293 blood serum samples (6987 samples by RTGA, 1034 samples by PCR). The results are negative.
In accordance with the Veterinary Rules for the implementation of preventive, diagnostic, restrictive and other measures, the establishment and lifting of quarantine and other restrictions aimed at preventing the spread and eliminating foci of highly pathogenic avian influenza, approved by order of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation of March 24, 2021 No. 158, bird owners are obliged to:
- to provide birds for inspection at the request of specialists of bodies and organizations included in the system of the State Veterinary Service of the Russian Federation;
- notify within 24 hours the specialists of the state veterinary service of all cases of disease or death of birds, as well as changes in their behavior, indicating a possible disease;
- use heat-treated feed for feeding birds used to obtain poultry products;
- ensure the protection of premises in which birds are kept (hereinafter referred to as the poultry house) from the penetration of wild birds, including synanthropic birds, and rodents.
