The current wave of covid-19 cases will begin to decline in mid-July, but a new rise is possible as early as September. This was announced by Andrey Isaev, General DIRECTOR of the Scientific Center for Molecular Genetic Research DNAOM, TASS reports.

“Epidemics develop in waves, after growth there is always a decline. I hope that the current wave will subside by mid-July,” the expert said.

At the same time, he added that a new surge in the incidence will begin from the end of September, and stressed that the immunity of those who have now received the first component of the vaccine will be ready just in time for this wave.

According to Isaev, the beginning of autumn will be indicative of the effect of mandatory vaccination of certain groups of the population.

The Kremlin announced the need for tough measures due to the growth of covid infections Society

Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova previously stated that herd immunity to CORONAVIRUS in RUSSIA will appear when 60% of the adult population is vaccinated. The HEAD of the Ministry of HEALTH, Mikhail Murashko, in turn, reported that this figure could be reached by autumn. According to him, as of June 28, about 23 million people have already been vaccinated in the country.

In June, the daily number of COVID-19 infections in Russia more than doubled from 9.5 thousand (June 1) to 21,042 (June 30). On July 1, the federal operational headquarters reported that the number of COVID-19 infections over the previous day exceeded 23.5 thousand, 672 people died.

Against the backdrop of the spread of a more contagious variant of the coronavirus in Russia, a revaccination program was launched. You can re-vaccinate six months after the first vaccination or after suffering COVID-19.
