May 23, MINSK . For successful competition in foreign markets, the priority for Belarusian manufacturers should be the quality of products. This was stated by the First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Standardization of Belarus Elena Morgunova during the Day of Quality of Confectionery Products, BelTA has learned.
"In today's difficult conditions, it is quality that is the main benchmark for the competitiveness of products both for each organization and for the country as a whole. The issues of product quality today come to the fore, are strategically important, including within the framework of various integration entities - the CIS, the EAEU . Thus, among the strategic directions of Eurasian integration is ensuring quality guarantees, safety of traded goods and proper protection of consumer rights. It is necessary to improve the quality and competitiveness of manufactured products, the effectiveness of technical regulation," said Elena Morgunova. The basis of the current model of technical regulation, according to which the real sector of the economy operates, is made up of mandatory requirementsaccording to technical regulations and voluntary standards. "This approach ensures the circulation of safe products, while there are no unreasonable technical barriers to trade both within the country and within the EAEU. At the same time, the mission of state standards is, among other things, to produce high-quality, competitive types of products and services, promote exports, implementation of innovations and optimal use of resources. Standards today embody the best advanced technologies, the best international experience, provide unification, interchangeability. This is especially important today, when supply chains have been disrupted. Rapid updating of standards for the interchangeability of certain components allows us to withstand competitive selection in foreign markets," drew the attention of the first deputy chairman of the State Standard.
Elena MorgunovaState standards are developed by technical committees for standardization or with their direct participation. Such committees cover key sectors of the economy and take into account the interests of all parties. A technical committee for standardization "Food Raw Materials and Products of Its Processing" operates on the basis of the Scientific and Practical Center of the National Academy of Sciences for Food. The committee includes 10 subcommittees and covers all areas of the food industry. Interested parties can send their initiative proposals there.
"Product quality begins with the technical requirements applied by the manufacturer. They can be set in standards and specifications. All these provisions also apply to confectionery products," Elena Morgunova added.
During the Day of Quality, in the format of a round table, problematic issues of technical regulation and state standardization in the confectionery industry were considered. In addition, the program of the event included the work of the Central Tasting Commission, the main purpose of which is to assess the organoleptic characteristics of domestic and imported confectionery products sold in Belarusian retail chains: waffles, oatmeal and butter cookies, confectionery products based on toffee, MILK, milk-containing and soft caramel masses.
