December 1, MINSK. The possibility of creating an Armenian trading house in Belarus was discussed at the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation, BelTA has learned.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Economy of Armenia Vagan Kerobyan, as well as the Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of Belarus Alexei Bogdanov.

"All supermarkets in Armenia have products of various Belarusian companies. However, we want to see even more Belarusian products in our market, but it is also important for us to develop our companies. For our part, we can offer supplies of food and ALCOHOL products. Today we are also discussing the possibility of creating an Armenian trading house in Belarus in order to remove barriers in the supply of alcohol from our country to yours. For us, this is an important issue," the Minister of Economy of Armenia noted.

According to him, Armenia is interested in developing cooperation with Belarus in the field of mechanical engineering, the construction industry, food supplies, as well as financial.

"This year, the trade turnover between our countries has almost doubled, but my colleagues and I are confident that this is only the beginning of the journey. Our countries have great potential for growth in various areas. We are located in the same economic customs zone, so relations that between Belarus and Armenia will significantly improve the economy of the two countries. Of course, for this you need to make some efforts, but there will definitely be a good result," summed up Vahan Kerobyan.

According to the results of January - September 2022, the trade turnover between the countries amounted to $128.5 million (206.2% compared to the same period last year).
