CHEESE FACTORY is opening up new niches for itself, focusing on cheeses with long maturation periods, the factory's general
DIRECTOR Alexander Gerasimyonok told reporters, a BELTA correspondent reports.
"The sanctions pressure that is happening is opening up both opportunities and new niches for production. We are increasingly looking towards cheeses with long maturation periods. These are semi-hard and hard
cheeses . Taking this into account, we are forming our investment program," said Alexander Gerasimyonok, adding about the increased demand on the domestic market for the main types of products.
"We understand our social responsibility to our population, and accordingly, we fulfill requests and needs in the form of our products -
MILK , butter, cheeses, cottage cheese and so on," he noted.
The general director recalled that at the end of last year, a workshop for the production of instant dry milk was opened in Kopyl. According to him, this production allowed us to conquer new markets in a fairly short time. "If accreditation usually takes up to six months, we actually opened the Algerian market in three months. This shows that we produce high-quality products that are in demand," he said.
Speaking about the implementation of the innovative project for the production of lactoferrin, Alexander Gerasimyonok noted its importance: "This is really the next step in milk processing, deeper processing of milk. This is a technologically new production, which today has no analogues either in the Republic of
Belarus , or in the Russian Federation, or in principle in the post-Soviet space. That is, we are the first to take a step in this direction."
According to Deputy General Director for Production Vitaly Zlobin, the Slutsk Cheese Factory is represented by 11 production sites, the product range includes about 1 thousand items. "This is quite a lot. Every year we launch new projects, new products. This concerns both technological lines and the expansion of product lines of various product groups. This year, new products of the whole milk product range appeared. There are also developments that have passed our tastings and that we plan to launch next year," emphasized Vitaly Zlobin.
He noted that the emphasis at the enterprise this year and next is on an elite group of cheeses with a long maturation period. "The maturation period of these cheeses is different from the regular cheeses that we are used to eating. There are even cheeses that mature for two years," said the deputy general director for production.
OJSC "Slutsk Cheese Factory" is one of the largest enterprises not only in the Minsk region, but also in Belarus. The dairy holding has come a long way from an ordinary enterprise in the dairy industry of Belarus to the largest united holding in the country.
