Export of natural wool from the territory of the Stavropol Territory increased by 60%

Last year, the EXPORT of natural wool, not carded or combed, amounted to 2.44 thousand tons, which is 60% higher than in 2020. The amount of transactions amounted to more than 3.7 million US dollars .
Stavropol wool is exported to 6 countries of the world. The main volume is exported to CHINA , India and Bulgaria. Also, in 2021, the first batch of combed wool was exported to Belarus. 15 tons of products worth 22 thousand US dollars were exported to this country.
it should be noted that there are 13 wool exporting enterprises in the Stavropol Territory. One of the leading ones is located in the Apanasenkovsky District, it harvests and sells wool for export. Last year, the farm shipped wool to India, Bulgaria and Uruguay.
“Agrarians of the Stavropol Territory are the main producers of fine and semi-fine wool in RUSSIA, which both domestic and foreign light industry needs,” said Dmitry Frolko, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory.
