Preventive measures in the region are carried out by the state veterinary service all year round.

Among the measures to protect farm animals from infections, one of the main places is occupied by preventive vaccinations.

Over the past year, the specialists of the station for the fight against animal diseases carried out more than 1.9 million preventive and forced vaccinations of small ruminants. The statistics include vaccinations against contagious, including especially dangerous diseases: bradzot, brucellosis, smallpox, anthrax and foot-and-mouth disease.

In particular, 22,000 sheep and goats were vaccinated against bradzot, 533,000 animals were vaccinated against small ruminants, and 714,000 HEAD treatments were carried out against anthrax. 482.5 thousand animals were vaccinated against foot-and-mouth disease, a total of 154 thousand sheep and goats were vaccinated against brucellosis.

Plans for anti-epizootic measures are developed for each district of the region, depending on the type and number of animals, as well as in accordance with the instructions for the use of veterinary drugs.
