Abi, the leading Russian company producing MEAT products, increased its EXPORT volume by 24% in the first quarter of 2022 compared to the same period last year. The key directions of deliveries are the countries of the Customs Union - Kazakhstan and the Republic of Belarus, as well as Abkhazia, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. Since April of this year, the company's products have been supplied to Mongolia.
At the end of 2021, Abi's export volume doubled compared to 2020. The company was able to increase export performance in all product categories by increasing deliveries to traditional markets and developing new directions. Boiled sausages were the most successful in terms of shipment volumes (+53% compared to 2020), sausages were in second place with an increase of 179%, and smoked sausages were in third place (+176%). The Republic of Kazakhstan became the leader among the importing countries both in terms of the total volume of products sold and in terms of growth rates (more than 100%).
“This year, our company continues to develop cooperation with partners in the CIS, as well as in the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union,” Roman Otodraka, DIRECTOR of the Abi sales department, told Agroexport. “The growth of these markets is largely due to the well-established consumer preferences that were formed back in the Soviet era.”
In 2021, the volume of finished products produced by Abi amounted to 351 thousand tons (+ 18% by 2020). Revenue increased to 57.6 billion rubles. For the fourth year in a row, the company has been increasing production volumes and maintaining growth rates. Abi is among the 500 largest companies in RUSSIA in terms of revenue (RBC-500 rating). According to the results of the first quarter of 2022, the total production volume increased by 14.7% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 87 thousand tons. Revenue amounted to 15.3 billion rubles.
This year, the increase in production capacity will also contribute to the development of sales channels, including export ones. The company's specialists are constantly exploring new markets, assessing their potential. “Abroad, as in Russia, we use an integrated approach based on a systematic study of consumer behavior and preferences, which allows us to build strong brands in the countries of presence that not only meet the needs and correlate with consumer values, but also largely anticipate the needs of the audience , - said Roman Otodraka. “Having a high-quality and tasty product, which is supported by competent communication with the consumer, it is possible to develop any new markets.”
Currently, the company continues to implement all previously announced investment projects: both for the development of production and for the improvement of working conditions. In particular, the construction of a large factory for the production of sausages in Vladimir is underway. Its capacity will be 500 tons of products per day. Sausages and frankfurters under the brands Vyazanka and Starodvorye will be produced here. The construction of a plant for the production of frozen semi-finished products and hot meat snacks is in full swing.

The main deliveries of these products were made to Kazakhstan ($114.8 million), Ukraine ($29.2 million), Azerbaijan ($17.8 million) and other countries.
