Gross milk production in Belarus increased by 6.5%.

September 10, MINSK . Gross MILK production in Belarus has reached an impressive figure of almost 25,000 tonnes per day. This is 6.5% more than in the same period last year, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food told BelTA.

The marketability of sold milk amounted to 91.7%, which is 0.5% higher than last year. 

The ministry noted that such figures are the result of the coordinated work of thousands of specialists, the introduction of modern technologies and systematic state support for the dairy industry. But even more telling is the average milk yield per cow - 18.3 kg per day. The 

highest milk yield was produced in the Brest region - 22.7 kg per cow - 4.4 kg above the average, in the Grodno region - 21.6 kg, in the Minsk region - 19.8 kg, in the Gomel region - 13.7 kg, in the Vitebsk region - 13.5 kg, in the Mogilev region - 12.4 kg.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Food recalled that this year it plans to produce approximately 9 million tons of milk, with a milking herd productivity of approximately 6,500 kg per cow.
