April 14, Vitebsk. Vitebsk region demonstrates a good dynamics in the development of the livestock sector. Deputy Prime Minister Leonid Zayats told journalists today at the ceremony of awarding employees of the sphere in Vitebsk with the Order of the Badge of Honor of the State Academy of Veterinary Medicine, BelTA has learned.

The Vice Prime Minister noted that this year the northern region shows good dynamics in the development of the livestock industry. “The MILK yield has increased, the quality of milk has improved, more milk has been sold to processing enterprises. This, in turn, provides the domestic market with food products and allows trading with neighboring countries. Based on the results of work for 2022, the Vitebsk region ensured an EXPORT growth rate of 123.2%. We we see that the pace of sales of agricultural products over the current months is not decreasing. And the republic has added, the Vitebsk region is also adding," he said.

Noting the work of individual enterprises in the region, the Deputy Prime Minister drew attention to the introduction of technologies that should be used in all farms of the region. According to him, there is a school and best practices here, and it has been adapted. "The potential of the northern region is quite high, we can see it. And the trend set by it deserves respect. According to the results of the work for the first three months, the Vitebsk region took second place in terms of gross domestic product in our republic, exceeded 101% in agricultural production."

This year should be decisive for the region's agro-industrial complex, Leonid Zayats believes: "We prepared for the spring sowing campaign better than the previous year. We repaired the equipment better, and the reliability is higher. We see that the amount of mineral, nitrogen, phosphorus fertilizers also exceeds the level of last year. Means of protection ", seeds are available. Weather conditions are conducive to ensuring winter crops are cared for and sown on time. As they say, a spring day feeds the year."

In addition, the vice-premier oriented the representatives of the industry to work on improving economic indicators. "All this work should be directed to the benefit of the person. Therefore, when receiving revenue, we need to think about how to increase wages for people," he continued, noting that this approach should be taken as a basis and think about the sources of salary increase by increasing the volume of marketable products. "And to have marketable products, it is necessary to work on farms and fields," concluded Leonid Zayats.

Today, the best livestock workers of the Vitebsk region received awards for decent work and high achievements. Acknowledgments, certificates of honor and medals were received by about 120 people. Among them are drivers, machinists, tractor drivers, operators of machine milking, pig-breeding complexes, livestock breeders, veterinarians, and business leaders.
