An agrotourist from the Moscow region worked as a shepherd in Dagestan for six months

Natalya Yankova arrived in Dagestan in the spring of 2023 and, as part of the staff of the Agrofirm Sogratl agricultural holding company, went to move sheep from the Kumtorkalinsky district to the Tlyaratinsky district - to the summer pastures of the farm. The Khimki resident spent the entire summer in the mountains, and in the fall she went out again in the opposite direction.

In the Kumtorkala region, the flock of the Sogratl agricultural company, together with the shepherds, was met by Emin Shaikhgasanov and the HEAD of the farm, Abdurakhman Churaev.

As the latter said, Natalya Yankova became a full-fledged member of the team and, along with other experienced shepherds, participated in the movement.

The journey, more than 300 km long, from alpine meadows to winter lowland pastures took over two weeks.

Natalia Yankova's main occupation is the provision of accounting services. By her own admission, in Dagestan she decided to try herself as a shepherd with complete immersion in the profession.

“I found out for myself that a woman can also be a shepherd. For me, this became an unusual type of vacation, a kind of journey. During the transfer there was everything - rain, hail, snow, narrow mountain paths, and dangerous passes, but I had fun. I wouldn’t get such emotions anywhere else, I wouldn’t see such nature anywhere,” said a resident of the Moscow region.

Abdurakhman Churaev named Natalya Yankova woman of the year. The head of the cooperative highly appreciated her courage and said that he intended to offer the guest a job as an accountant at the Sogratl agricultural company.

Emin Shaikhgasanov noted that part of the herd that Natalya Yankova moved was in good condition, and the move took place as usual.

“Natalia’s livestock reached the same level as everyone else, it is clear that the young stock is strong. In general, livestock farmers in Dagestan have already moved about 120 thousand heads of livestock to winter pastures. The haul should be completely completed by early November. We are counting on a successful wintering of livestock, since the grass stand on the pastures is good,” the deputy minister emphasized.
