In the priority development zone "Buryatia", the construction of the second stage of the pig-breeding enterprise "Sibagro" was completed, the Ministry of Agriculture of the region reports. According to the agency, with the launch of this enterprise, the number of pigs in the region will increase from 85 thousand heads to 120 thousand heads, and the provision of the region with MEAT of its own production - up to 74%. Part of the meat will be exported.

The construction of the center took two years. Now, according to the department, it includes eight farm buildings where pigs will be kept and fattened, and two primary processing workshops. Also, Sibagro representatives note, to provide the complex with infrastructure and solve logistical problems, a 3.3 km long road with a capacity of up to 95 cars per day will be built. The highway will be built with federal funds.

It is expected that the pig farm will produce 27 thousand tons of pork per year, which will increase meat production in the region by a third, and this is not yet the maximum capacity for the complex.

After reaching full production capacity, Sibagro will be able to supply pork to other regions of RUSSIA and abroad, the regional Ministry of Agriculture believes. Now the pig farm exports to Mongolia about 2 thousand tons of meat per year and occupies about 65% of the market there. Exports can expand to other Asian countries.
