The containers were sent for examination. it has been established that the liquids contain the denaturing additive diethyl phthalate. It is colorless and odorless, but is a potential carcinogen.

"Diethyl phthalate is toxic, irritating, sensitizing (increasing the body's sensitivity to chemicals, leading to allergic diseases), gonadotropic (harmful effects on the sex glands and reproductive function), teratogenic (impaired development of the embryo in the womb, leading to deformity), mutagenic (damage to the hereditary apparatus) actions.
