Rosselkhoznadzor will issue permits for the introduction of animal vaccines into circulation

ROSSELKHOZNADZOR from September 1, 2023 will issue permits for the introduction of immunobiological veterinary drugs into civil circulation, follows from a government decree.

The resolution states that the department will issue permission for the introduction into civil circulation of immunobiological medicinal products for veterinary use, which were produced in RUSSIA or imported into the Russian Federation.

“Previously, medicinal products for veterinary use were subject to mandatory certification and declaration in terms of safety. Then this procedure was changed, which led to the need to develop other methods for assessing the conformity of medicines introduced into civil circulation. In particular, a government decree was developed, which gave the Rosselkhoznadzor the right to issue permits for the introduction of immunobiological preparations into civilian circulation, ”the press service of the department explained to Veterinary and Life.

In addition, from March 1, 2023, the agency will have the right to inspect facilities where animals are grown and kept, as well as where livestock products are produced and stored for EXPORT (except for the EAEU countries).

The list of requirements of importing countries will be posted on the official website of Rosselkhoznadzor .

This government decree also expands the list of powers of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia. The agency acquires the right to adopt the certification procedure for the holder of a registration certificate for a veterinary drug and carry out the certification itself, as well as issue a test report on the compliance of each of the first two batches of an immunobiological medicinal product for veterinary use. These changes also come into effect on September 1, 2023.
