During an online press tour organized by McDonald's and Miratorg, McDonald's Quality Manager in RUSSIA Vladislav Solomatov said that the company is ready to produce products with vegetable MEAT if the consumer wants it.

The expert said that the company is closely monitoring customer requests and is ready to switch to this trend at any time if it is relevant. At the same time, Vladislav Solomatov noted that at the moment in Russia the demand for vegetable meat burgers is not a need, but rather a manifestation of interest in something new.

As for the price of products with vegetable meat, the expert noted that it is still difficult to calculate it.

- When a new product is developed, the question of its cost immediately arises. So far, this industry is not particularly developed in our country. But we would like the plant-based product that we use in our burgers to be similar in taste, smell, and appearance to animal meat. We have partners who are working on this issue. But so far this is only research, - said Vladislav Solomatov.

He noted that the price of the finished product with alternative meat will also be important for McDonald's.

- We would not like to provide guests with expensive products. We're working on getting the price right. I am sure that if we produce burgers with vegetable meat, then their price will be adequate, - the expert noted.

Separately, he raised the issue of Halal certification, noting that the company already has partner suppliers who have this accreditation, including for sending meat to Arab countries.

- If there is a demand for such products among our consumers, then we are ready to consider the possibility of obtaining Halal certification. While in production, we do not adhere to these principles. But if our customers, especially in those regions where there is a great need for halal products, have such a request, we are ready to work in this direction. We are very flexible in this regard, - concluded Vladislav Solomatov.
