U.S. approves third dose of COVID vaccines for adults

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved a booster dose of the Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna CORONAVIRUS vaccines for the entire adult population. This is stated on the websites of both companies.

An additional dose of vaccines will be available to those who have received a full course of vaccination with one of the FDA-approved drugs, six months after the last vaccination. Those wishing to receive the booster dose must be at least 18 years of age.

In mid-August, the FDA approved Moderna and Pfizer/BioNTech booster vaccinations only for immunocompromised patients.
