More than 13.5 thousand machine operators will go out into the field during the spring field work in the Saratov region

“The staff of machine operators for spring sowing is fully staffed. This year, 13,658 machine operators will be involved in spring field work, which is 100% of the need. Moreover, we have formed a personnel reserve of students of Vavilov University - 137 people, and agricultural technical schools - 200 people, who, if necessary, will be involved in field work as part of an internship," said Roman Kovalsky, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Government - Minister of Agriculture of the region.
At the same time, the Ministry of Agriculture of the region conducts operational weekly monitoring of the personnel situation in the agro-industrial complex. As in 2022, the most demanded specialties in agriculture are agronomist, veterinarian, livestock specialist, engineer. Among the working professions are a tractor driver-machinist of agricultural production and a driver.
Recall, on the eve of the sowing campaign, 97 students of the Faculty of Engineering and Environmental Engineering of the Agricultural University, who are sent to agricultural enterprises of the region for internships under the state program for the Comprehensive Development of Rural Territories, learned and received the right to drive a tractor, another 30 students are completing internships.
Thanks to state support measures, agricultural producers are compensated for part of the costs of living and paying students.
