The U.S. authorities have authorized booster vaccination against CORONAVIRUS for adolescents from 12 years old and children with immune system diseases from the age of five. This was reported by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) under the Ministry of HEALTH of the country.

The vaccine produced by Pfizer/BioNTech will be used for revaccination.

“The FDA has updated its emergency vaccine use rules to include people aged 12 to 15. Also, the period between the completion of full vaccination (two doses of vaccination - RBC) and revaccination is reduced to at least five months. it is allowed to administer the third dose of the vaccine to children with problems with the immune system from five to 11 years old, ”the message says.

The FDA notes that it made the decision after reviewing data from Israel that the use of the Pfizer vaccine proved safe. Israeli doctors provided Americans with information about the revaccination of 6.3 thousand people aged 12 to 15 years. This information "allowed a different assessment of the benefits and risks of revaccinating adolescents in the context of the current COVID-19 outbreak," the agency notes, assuring the safety of booster vaccinations.
