The Ministry of HEALTH of Ukraine has registered the Janssen vaccine against covid-19 for emergency medical use, the ministry said in a statement. This is a drug developed by the eponymous "daughter" of the American corporation Johnson & Johnson.
Janssen is a vector vaccine containing a human adenovirus embedded with DNA encoding the spike protein of the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes COVID-19. The Janssen vaccine is one-component, one injection is enough for vaccination.
The vaccine is approved for emergency use by the World Health Organization, and the United States , Great Britain, the European Union, Switzerland, CANADA and other countries also gave permission for its use.
The Janssen vaccine, like ASTRAZENECA, has been under suspicion several times due to cases of blood clots in patients. On April 13, the use of the vaccine was temporarily suspended in the United States. Less than two weeks later, however, the US regulator's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), recommended that the drug be reintroduced. As in the case of AstraZeneca, it was not possible to prove a direct connection between the formation of blood clots and the vaccine, all studies confirmed its safety.
