12 out of 14 deputies of the lower house of parliament from Bashkiria and the Kumertau Aviation Production Enterprise (part of the Russian Helicopters holding) fell under US sanctions , according to a list published by the US Treasury.

Two parliamentarians from Bashkiria, United RUSSIA Rizvan Kurbanov and a representative of the LDPR faction, Rifat Shaikhutdinov (elected from the Civic Platform party), managed to avoid US sanctions. According to the website of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Kurbanov did not vote on February 15 for the appeal of the lower house of parliament to Vladimir Putin on the need to recognize the Lugansk and Donetsk People's Republics, but on February 22, the deputy spoke in favor of ratifying friendship treaties with the LPR and DPR. Shaikhutdinov voted "for" on both issues.

Earlier, both parliamentarians were not included in the first EU sanctions list, introduced on February 24, but later restrictions were extended to them.

The new US sanctions list includes 328 State Duma deputies, the lower house of parliament itself, 48 Russian defense companies and enterprises, and the Lena yacht, registered in the British Virgin Islands, “associated”, as the US Treasury Department says, with Gennady Timchenko. The sanctions provide for a ban on entry into the States, as well as on transactions with those on the list.

As RBC Ufa reported, in early March, the Salavat Chemical Plant (a structure of the Roscosmos Group of Companies) and the Ufa Motor-Building Production Association (part of Rostec) fell under US sanctions. The structures of Roskosmos and Rostec also fell under the sanctions of the EU and the UK.
