The vaccine against CoviVac CORONAVIRUS is not available in the Novosibirsk region due to the fact that the Chumakov Center, which developed the drug, did not release the vaccine for two months due to reprofiling and improved production. This was announced by the chief vaccinologist of the Novosibirsk region Tatyana Ivleva during the broadcast of the Evening Conversation program on the City Wave radio.
“You can choose either Sputnik or Sputnik Light or EpiVacCoron. There are three vaccines in the region,” Ivleva said.
She added that among those vaccines that are present in the region, Sputnik V is the most proven and tested. “We already understand what to expect from it, and what efficiency and safety it has,” the vaccinologist emphasized.
The rest of the drugs for coronavirus have less experience in the use, and therefore there is less data on their effectiveness and safety of use than that of Sputnik V. Ivleva added that foreign vaccines against covid-19 most likely will not appear in the Novosibirsk region. “You don't have to wait for them. Choose if possible now, ”said the vaccinologist.
At an operational meeting held on October 11 in the government of the Novosibirsk Region, Governor Andrey Travnikov did not rule out that there could be interruptions in the supply of CoviVac and EpiVacCorona vaccines in the region amid the hype after the introduction of mandatory vaccination. At the same time, he noted that even with an increase in demand for the Sputnik V vaccine by 10-20 times, there will be enough stocks of the drug.
