Hygrometers VIT-1, VIT-2 (Russia)

Hygrometers psychrometric VIT-1, VIT-2 are designed to measure relative humidity and indoor air temperature.

 

The VIT type psychrometric hygrometer is a device assembled on a base made of phenolic plastic or other materials of similar properties. Two thermometers with a scale, a psychrometric table, and a glass basin filled with distilled water are attached to the base. The thermometer reservoir under the inscription "Moist." is moistened from the feeder with a wick of cambric or chiffon.

 

The method of measuring relative humidity by psychrometric hygrometer (VIT-1 and VIT-2) is based on the dependence between the humidity and psychrometric difference - the difference between the readings of "dry" and "humidified" thermometers, which are in thermodynamic equilibrium with the environment. By taking readings of thermometers and introducing corrections to their readings, the difference of thermometer readings is determined. Then use the readings of the "dry" thermometer and the difference between the readings of the "dry" and "humidified" thermometers to determine the relative humidity of the air according to the psychrometric table.
