April 28, MINSK. Belarus is ready to share its experience in the field of housing and communal services with RUSSIA. This was stated by the Minister of Housing and Communal Services Andrey Khmel at a meeting with the Governor of the Kurgan region Vadim Shumkov during a visit to this Russian region, BelTA learned from the press service of the department.
“Belarus is ready to share its experience in the field of housing and communal services, including issues of water purification and water consumption, waste recycling, organization of service services. The relevance of this area is constantly growing. I believe that the main goal of our meeting should be to develop solutions that will contribute to the creation of favorable conditions in trade, expansion of industrial cooperation, implementation of new projects and search for promising areas for deepening bilateral cooperation," Andriy Khmel said.
In order to solve the problem of replacing obsolete elevators in multi-storey residential buildings, industrial and socio-cultural facilities in Russia, the Belarusian side proposed to actively involve the Mogilevliftmash plant in tenders for the purchase of elevator equipment.“In Belarus, serious attention is paid to the development of the industrial sector, including industrial cooperation with its main partners. Belarusian machine-building enterprises have a serious production base. Taking into account the projects being implemented in the Kurgan region to build up industrial potential, the Belarusian side is ready to discuss possible mutually beneficial areas of cooperation,” said the HEAD of the department. "Belarus is interested in increasing the supply of municipal and road-building equipment MAZ, MTZ, AMKODOR to the Russian region. This equipment meets international standards and has positively recommended itself not only in Belarus and Russia, but also in the near and far abroad."
In addition, the joint implementation of road construction projects can bring cooperation between the two countries to a new level. And this applies to both the construction and reconstruction of roads and bridge structures. Holding "Belavtodor" successfully operates both in Belarus and in the CIS.
Cooperation in the sphere of the agro-industrial complex, participation in its technical modernization also remains relevant. Belarusian food products have proven to be of high quality and are very popular in Russia. “In our trade, food products occupy one of the main EXPORT positions,” Andrei Khmel said. “We are ready to increase supplies of dairy and MEAT products, confectionery, baby food and other products to the region. Belarusian manufacturers of agricultural machinery and equipment can offer a wide range of of our products for the agrarians of the region, including using mutually acceptable export financing mechanisms.We have the ability to meet the needs of Kurgan agrarians and processors in seed and planting material, as well as in the latest technologies.
Direct ties with the subjects of Russia are the basis for effective trade and economic cooperation and further strengthening of fraternal relations between Belarus and Russia. "Recent events have once again confirmed the correctness of the course towards integrating the economies of our countries and strengthening bilateral cooperation at all levels. This equally applies to both the economic and humanitarian components of bilateral relations. We are open to discussing and implementing any mutually beneficial projects," he stressed. The dynamics of contacts between Belarus and the Kurgan region allows maintaining bilateral relations at a high level. At the end of 2021, the trade turnover exceeded $15 million. “At the same time, we need to look for new growth points. We have every chance to expect that we will go beyond $20 million and reach the level of 2017, when the trade turnover was more than $27 million,” concluded minister.
