December 27, Brest. The Brest region has ensured positive development dynamics this year in all sectors of animal husbandry, Sergei Butkevich, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture and Food of the Regional Executive Committee, told a BelTA correspondent.

In January-November, the volume of production of MILK, beef, pork, poultry products (broiler MEAT, eggs) increased in the region. In addition, it was possible not only to maintain the number of cattle, but also to increase the dairy herd by 2 thousand cows.

"Following the results of 11 months, the gross production of livestock products amounted to 102.3% compared to the level of last year. Considering that we gained very good dynamics in December (a growth rate of more than 104%), we expect approximately 102.5% by the end of the year. We plan that in terms of milk yield per cow, this year we will come close to 6.6 thousand kg of milk - this is the highest figure in the republic," Sergey Butkevich noted.

Berezovsky, Drogichinsky, Ivanovsky and Pinsk districts provided the largest increase in milk production, where the growth rate was 105% and higher. In addition, quality indicators have also improved in this most profitable area for the agricultural sector. Thus, milk of the "extra" variety was produced in the region by 4.5% more compared to the same period last year.

The growth rate of meat production in January-November amounted to 102.5%. Including beef - 101.3%, pork - 102.6%, poultry meat - 104%. Among the leaders are Kobrinsky (126%), Zhabinkovsky (133%) and Berezovsky (111%) districts.

Positive dynamics is also observed in average daily weight gain: for cattle - 680 g, for pig-breeding complexes - 726 g, which is 100 g more than the average for the republic. The highest average daily weight gain of cattle in the Brest region is 800 g. In Baranovichi, Berezovsky, Ivanovo, Kamenets and Pinsk, the average daily weight gain exceeded 700 g.

"This result was achieved due to many factors. This is the forage base, and the construction and reconstruction of dairy farms (and about 18 such facilities were commissioned this year). But the main thing is the work of personnel who effectively solve the whole range of industry issues," noted "December is a kind of launching pad for us, a springboard for next year. Now the situation in all sectors of animal husbandry inspires optimism. I hope that next year we will maintain a good pace."

In mid-January, on the basis of one of the districts of the Brest region, an offsite seminar-meeting on animal husbandry will be held with the participation of the leadership of the regional executive committee, district executive committees, where the results of the work of the industry in 2021 will be summed up and the main directions for the coming year will be outlined.
