December 21, MINSK. The production of agricultural products and the revenue of agricultural organizations in Belarus are growing. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister Leonid Zayats at a joint meeting of the two chambers of the Belarusian parliament, BelTA has learned.

"Positive trends in the development of the agricultural industry continue this year. For 11 months of 2022, the growth rate of gross agricultural production in farms of all categories amounted to 103.5%. At the end of the year, the result is expected to be maintained," Leonid Zayats said.

In January-November 2022, agricultural organizations and peasant (farm) enterprises produced 7,051 thousand tons of MILK, or 100.9% by January-November 2021, 566 thousand tons of cattle, 369 thousand tons of pigs, 608 thousand tons of poultry, egg production amounted to 2.7 billion pieces. "And the volumes of harvested grain make it possible to provide the domestic market with rye and wheat FLOUR, as well as barley, buckwheat and oatmeal in full until the harvest of 2023," the Deputy Prime Minister noted.

Positive dynamics is noted in the financial results. According to statistics, in January-October 2022, the revenue of agricultural organizations increased by 23% compared to the corresponding period last year. Profit from the sale of products increased by 73%. Net profit increased by 50%. Return on sales was 9.7% compared to 6.9% in January-October 2021.

The number of unprofitable organizations has decreased, wages have increased. In January-October, the level of nominal average monthly wages amounted to Br1182, which is 19% higher than the corresponding period of the last year.

"The growth of agricultural production contributes to an increase in food production in the country. For 11 months of 2022, the physical volume index for this type of activity amounted to 102.3%. The production of basic food products has increased: butter, cheeses, cottage cheese and curd products, skimmed milk powder, MEAT and meat products, sausages. The level of last year for the production of flour, bread and flour confectionery products was exceeded," Leonid Zayats noted.

"Thanks to the ongoing state agrarian policy, Belarus today not only ensures its food security, but also has a significant EXPORT potential. Our products are in demand, and this is confirmed by world rankings. Belarus is among the top five countries - exporters of dairy products and the top 15 countries - leading exporters meat products," the Deputy Prime Minister concluded.
