July 15, Moscow. The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission today, at a meeting in Vitebsk, amended the technical regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union "On the safety of MILK and dairy products", according to which Russian producers will be able to produce individual dairy products in increased packaging. This was announced at a briefing by EEC official representative Iya Malkina following the meeting, BelTA has learned.
"Until December 31, 2022, liquid adapted or partially adapted initial or follow-on formulas, drinking cream and milk , as well as fermented milk products for young children in a sealed package of 0.5 liters can be put into circulation on the domestic Russian market . Until now the volume of packaging of such products in the EAEU countries should not exceed 0.2 liters for liquid adapted or partially adapted initial or subsequent mixtures and 0.25 liters for drinking milk, drinking cream and fermented milk products," said Iya Malkina.This decision was made at the initiative of the Russian Federation to eliminate the shortage of packages of 0.2 and 0.25 liters.
"Such products should not be marked with a single sign of product circulation on the EAEU market. At the same time, the inscription should be put on the packaging:" For sale only on the territory of the Russian Federation, "the official representative of the EEC emphasized.
"In accordance with the decision of the EEC Council, the Russian government must ensure the circulation of such products exclusively on the territory of the Russian Federation and their traceability through the state information system for monitoring the circulation of goods subject to mandatory labeling with identification tools," Iya Malkina added.
The meeting of the EEC Council in Vitebsk was attended by the Deputy Prime Ministers of the EAEU countries. Belarus was represented by Igor Petrishenko.
