Rospotrebnadzor has canceled the standard for conducting at least 300 weekly tests for covid-19 per 100 thousand of the population, follows from the decision of the chief sanitary DOCTOR Anna Popova, which is posted on the legal information portal.

Amendments were made to the resolution "On additional measures to reduce the risks of the spread of COVID-19 during the seasonal rise in the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections and influenza."

“Ensure that research is carried out for the performance of the COVID-19 pathogen by any of the methods that determine the genetic material or antigen of the pathogen, using diagnostic preparations and test systems registered in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation,” the document says.

it notes that the level of testing coverage for CORONAVIRUS will be determined in each specific region based on the epidemiological situation.

The decision comes into force on April 19.

The standard was introduced by Rospotrebnadzor in the fall of 2020, during the second wave of the pandemic, and initially contained a requirement of 150 studies per 100,000 people per week. In March 2021, the agency increased coverage to 200 tests per week, and in November to 300.

Rospotrebnadzor applies the standard depending on the level of morbidity. More than 100 cases per week per 100,000 population are considered high, average - from 50 to 100 cases, low - no more than 50 cases.

On April 18, 9,434 cases of COVID-19 infection were detected in Russia, according to the data of the federal operational headquarters. This is the smallest increase since June 2021.
