January 20, Vileika. A unique project for the republic to produce cheeses with white mold within the framework of the "One District - One Project" program was implemented in Vileika, at the production site of OJSC
MINSK Dairy Plant No. 1, BELTA reports.
The opening of the new production was attended by the
HEAD of the Administration of the President of the Republic of
Belarus Dmitry Krutoy and the chairman of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Turchin, who cut the symbolic red ribbon.
"We have come a long way and we hope that our beloved consumers will appreciate our new product and
it will take its place of honor on the table of every Belarusian. The production capacity is 3 tons per day, 90 tons per month. Now we are planning to work out the technology of Camembert cheese, in the future we plan to produce Brie cheese and, perhaps, some other options that our technologists come up with," said Tamara Chichiro, General
DIRECTOR of Minsk Dairy Plant No. 1. The head of the holding noted that
MILK will be supplied to the production site from the dairy complex, which was built in Lyuban last year. The daily
milk requirement for the production of white mold cheese is 24 tons. Tamara Chichiro gave the honored guests of the enterprise a tour of the production and introduced them to the stages of the complex process. The Vileika site specialized in the production of animal butter, curdled milk, sour cream, cottage cheese, and curd mass. Since 2022, after joining OJSC Minsk Dairy Plant No. 1, it has been a production site. Today, it produces packaged and bulk
butter (including lactose-free), bulk
cottage cheese and technical casein. The investment project for the production of Camembert cheese with white mold is unique for Belarus, since until now there was no industrial production of cheeses with white mold in the republic. The implementation of the project will allow developing domestic cheese making and producing a popular import-substituting and export-oriented product.
The project was implemented from 2022 to
2024. The production capacity of the cheese section is 90 tons per month, the capacity of the milk processing section per day, taking into account the implementation of the project, is 170 tons per day. Up to 90% of the products are planned to be
exported to the Russian Federation,
Kazakhstan , Georgia,
Azerbaijan , Armenia,
Uzbekistan , Turkmenistan, etc. The enterprise has created more than 40 new jobs.
