June 7, MINSK. The Minister of Agriculture and Food Igor Brylo spoke about the promising directions for the development of the agro-industrial complex in the program “To be in time before midnight” on the TV channel, BelTA informs.

“Our farmers are developing quite actively and want to implement their projects in the field of beekeeping. Workers in this industry want to create their own union, we supported them in this,” said Igor Brylo.

The minister is convinced that goat and sheep breeding are also promising sectors for the development of the agrarian complex. "Excellent breeds of these species, food products (goat and sheep cheese, yogurt, MILK ) are presented at the Belagro-2022 exhibition. Fruit production also needs to be developed. These are the positions for which, although in a small volume, we were dependent on import substitution. We will not replace tangerines and oranges, but we must focus on growing apples, pears, plums, grapes, gourds," the HEAD of the department stressed.

"As for the MEAT and dairy industry, we are several times higher than the level of consumption. More than 35% of the meat produced is exported - here we have a serious reserve. As for vegetable crops, here we also exceed the level of consumption, but we will still increase production volumes" - concluded Igor Brylo.
