From the heroic past to the achievements of our time. Days of the Brest Region opened at VDNKh in Moscow

January 11, Moscow . In Moscow, in the pavilion "Republic of Belarus" at VDNKh, the Days of the Brest Region opened on January 11. They were organized during the international exhibition and forum "Russia" taking place in the Russian capital from November to April, BELTA reports.

The Brest region became the first Belarusian region to present a large-scale exhibition at the exhibition-forum. Until January 29, VDNKh will display materials telling about all the best that the region has - from the heroic past to natural pearls and modern achievements.

Chairman of the Brest Regional Executive Committee Yuri Shuleiko noted that the region he heads is famous for agriculture, industry, people and traditions. He spoke in detail about the history of the Brest region, natural objects, as well as the products produced. According to him, the region produces 75% of the total output of fish and seafood in Belarus, 33% of sausages, 50% of ceramic tiles, 95% of gas stoves and the same amount of construction crushed stone, as well as much more. To confirm his words, the HEAD of the Brest region gave a short tour of the exhibition for the honored guests of the presentation, among whom were the Ambassador of Belarus to RUSSIA, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Mikhail Myasnikovich , State Secretary of the Union State Dmitry Mezentsev, People's Artists of Russia Igor Ugolnikov and Leonid Yakubovich, Honored Artist, choreographer Gediminas Taranda and other famous people. They were able to see separate stands dedicated to the Belovezhskaya Pushcha National Park, the Brest Hero Fortress memorial complex, the Brest free economic zone, sports, tourism and agricultural locations, and the achievements of the Brest Science and Technology Park. In addition, performances by creative groups, master classes on straw weaving and woodworking, tastings and other activities are organized for Muscovites and guests of the Russian capital.

Dmitry Krutoy called the opening Days of the Brest Region a bright event. According to him, in accordance with the decision of the President of Belarus ALEXANDER LUKASHENKO, before July 3 - Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus and the 80th anniversary of the country's liberation from the Nazi invaders - presentations of all regions of Belarus will be held in the Belarusian pavilion. “The fact that Belarus is actively present at the main exhibition site of Russia is an important decision of the President of Belarus,” said Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairman of the EEC Board, at the opening ceremony of the Days of the Brest Region. He emphasized that the Brest region demonstrates excellent performance. “Milk production per capita in the Brest region is six times higher than the EAEU average , and MEAT production is five times higher,” said the Chairman of the EEC Board.

Secretary of State of the Union State Dmitry Mezentsev recalled that VDNKh was conceived as a platform where the achievements of the entire multi-million Soviet people would be presented. “It so happened that since 1991 we have been living in the space of the Commonwealth of Independent States, but it is Belarus and Russia that show an absolutely amazing style of interaction, its depth, friendship, respect for the pages of history. And the fact that today, according to the plan of the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, begins here a series of presentations of the potential of the regions of Belarus is a particularly significant event,” he emphasized.
