Five years ago, Dvoretsky OJSC was in a deplorable position. Due to economic insolvency, I had to enter the pre-trial rehabilitation procedure. Over time, the situation in the economy began to improve, and in March last year, having fulfilled certain conditions, it was possible to conclude an amicable agreement with creditors and get out of the rehabilitation. A year later, the updated "Butler" not only noticeably improved in all respects, but also strives to become the leaders of the region. We learned what helps a troubled farm to become successful.

Grow up

In many ways, the transformation of the "Butler" is associated with the appearance of DIRECTOR Ivan Sidun, who came here three years ago. According to the HEAD, despite the financial difficulties, the farm was not a scorched earth, although certain problems existed:

- There were questions about equipment and infrastructure, there were not enough specialists, but in general the situation did not look critical. Let's just say that there was quite a solid foundation from which you can push off and move forward. Therefore, I immediately decided to build a clear system and set up the team for serious work in order to increase the efficiency of the economy by increasing labor productivity. Indeed, in our field, success depends on the observance of technological discipline.

First of all, Ivan Stepanovich set about establishing the processes of feeding livestock. Together with specialists, the rations were adjusted: they began to make their own compound feed according to five recipes with the addition of premixes so that the animals could receive the necessary vitamins and minerals in sufficient quantities. We increased the proportion of legumes in the feed, switched to haylage in polymer packaging, which better preserves its nutritional value.

- Along the way, we solved the problem of providing animals with protein raw materials. In "Dvoretsky" for many years they were engaged in the cultivation of rapeseed and achieved good harvests. This allowed us to conclude contracts with processors on the principle of natural exchange: we give rapeseed in advance, and they, according to the agreed coefficient, later pay us with cake, - Ivan Sidun explains.

In order to fully cover the needs of animal husbandry, the farm has revised the structure of sown areas. Much attention is now being paid to annual grasses. The chief agronomist of Dvoretsky, Vasily Kurak, says that legumes and cruciferous crops are now preferred:

- In the fields where the land is better, we grow clover and alfalfa, and in the swamp - cereal grasses. Also added peas and beans. Previously, ordinary grains of the same year were sown, but they have a weak return, so we decided to shift the focus. As a result, thanks to this, 43 centners of feed units per conventional head were harvested last year, which is almost two times higher than in 2019.

The optimal options are also selected for the grain wedge. Recently, triticale has become a major crop in Dvoretskoye, on which the main emphasis is placed.

– Triticale, both spring and winter, can boast of high fodder qualities. Plus gives a stable harvest on drained lands and, unlike wheat, is less demanding on climatic conditions. It is for these reasons that we increase its sown areas, especially in winter, because due to the longer vegetation period, it has a higher yield. Also, in recent years, they have begun to actively engage in corn, the grain of which is introduced into feed in large volumes, which makes it possible to prepare high-quality silage, - says the chief agronomist.

Dairy technologies

However, the creation of a high-quality forage base is only half the battle. It still needs to be used wisely. And here compliance with the technology comes to the fore: give the feed mixture in time, mix it correctly and prevent rain or snow from getting in, because due to changes in humidity, palatability may decrease and the cow will not receive the necessary elements. To prevent such problems, the farms have a workshop system that allows you to feed animals in groups, depending on their physiological state and productivity. And it gives its results.

Recently, "Butler" has noticeably added MILK. If in 2018 one cow accounted for a little more than 5,500 kilograms, then in 2020 they received 6,200. And this is far from the limit. For example, at the dairy farm No. 7 in the village of Yazvinki, they have already approached the figure of 7,500 kilograms. Machine milking operator Ekaterina Sinilevich, who has worked here for 20 years, shares the secret of how this result was achieved:

- Previously, there was more physical labor: they all worked themselves, cleaned the cows, laid them on the floor, manually carried milk tanks, since there was no question of a milk pipeline. Of course, in such conditions it was difficult to achieve serious milk yields. Now everything is different. We have a modern milking parlor with all the necessary equipment that facilitates the work. The quality of fodder and livestock has improved markedly. Now about 80% of the milk from our farm is of the "extra" variety, and there are such months when it is 100. We milk 330 - 335 tons per month. The main thing is to follow the technology, then everything will work out.

In order to develop success further, the farm has begun the construction of another dairy complex: a building permit has already been received. Along with this, the existing premises are being restored and modernized. After the sale of the livestock of pigs that were kept here until 2016, the Dvoretsky left empty buildings, they are gradually being restored so that they are useful. Now work is underway to reconstruct the former pig-breeding complex, it will be a place for keeping cattle. In the summer, they are going to start repairing three more premises for fattening and rearing young animals. In addition, the farm is engaged in the improvement of existing farms: they make access roads, manure storage facilities, and built five silo-haylage trenches.

“Before I came here, no one was engaged in fattening cattle. It can be said that there was practically no MEAT direction: bulls weighing up to 100 kilograms were sold, Ivan Sidun explains. “Such a re-profiling of the existing infrastructure gave us the opportunity to replenish working capital, thanks to which we can purchase fertilizers or fuel, etc. without any problems.

Stay competitive

Serious growth on all fronts helped to improve the financial situation of the economy. According to Lyudmila Soroka, chief economist at Dvoretsky, today livestock breeding alone brings in more than 600,000 rubles in revenue per month:

- Gross milk production is increasing by an average of 6% per year, and its profitability last year was 44.6%, which is almost 18% more than in 2019. Crop production also added well: the gross harvest of grain crops increased by 25% compared to 2019, and the yield in bunker weight amounted to 35 centners per hectare. We seriously added rapeseed: more than a thousand tons were harvested, which is 30% more than in 2019.

Thanks to economic development, Dvoretsky was able to pay off the debt to the Social Protection Fund of the Luninets District Department and the Luninets District Executive Committee, which made it possible to conclude an amicable agreement and exit the sanation in March 2020. Now, in accordance with the schedule, the farm continues to repay debts to other creditors.

– At the same time, we do not take new loans yet, we have enough of our own financial resources to deal with old obligations, and at the same time invest in the reconstruction of buildings and construction. Unless we use leasing to buy new equipment. So, over the past two years, we have purchased forage and grain harvesters, several tractors. As early as this year, we want to take an Amkadorovsky telescopic loader, two tractors and a modern seeder so that we can sow grain and apply mineral fertilizers at the same time. Plus, our machine operators are trying to bring to mind the existing equipment, - adds Lyudmila Soroka.

The improvement in the economic situation also made it possible to increase the average salary: in comparison with 2019, in 2020 it increased by 22 percent. This is a major help in a difficult personnel situation.

- The palace is only eight kilometers from the city, some villages that are part of the economy are even closer. Nearby there is a railway station, from where you can easily go to Luninets or Mikashevichi to work there. Plus, do not forget that we live in the strawberry capital, where people earn several of our annual salaries during the season, so part of it is involved in strawberries.

In addition, farming is developed in the district, where they are also actively employed. Naturally, in such a competitive environment, it is necessary to offer worthy conditions in order to interest a person, - explains the head of Dvoretsky.

From city to village

Nevertheless, the variety of offers on the labor market does not leave the farm without workers.

About 300 people work at Dvoretsky now. There are no vacancies: unless, says Ivan Sidun, he would also take an agronomist with a higher education. In general, there is no serious staff turnover. Moreover, there were even cases when people left, and after a while they returned. Tractor driver Stepan Bobrov is just such an example:

- I got into the "Butler" from the student's bench. He studied as a tractor driver in the Crimea, from where he came here with his parents when he turned 18. He served in the army, then came to the collective farm. He worked, got tired, got a job at a factory in the city, but returned two years later: he missed technology. And it's been here for 12 years now. Of course, during this time everything happened - both better and worse. Sometimes they didn't get paid for months. But now everything has improved: they gave me a forage harvester, so I earn good money.

Go to the "Butler" and young professionals. One of these, Maxim Kosovich, became chief engineer a couple of months ago:

- Although I myself am a city dweller, originally from Luninets, I have always been drawn to agriculture, I especially liked to study technology. Therefore, after school, I decided to enter the Belarusian Agricultural Academy in Gorki. During my studies, I was in practice in the "Alexandriysky" Shklovsky district, they even called me there for distribution, but decided to return to my homeland in order to benefit people in my region. So he ended up at Dvoretsky as an MTP engineer.

However, two months later, Maxim was drafted into the army, where he became the commander of an automobile platoon.

- There I gained experience, even received several commendation awards for good service. And when I returned, the manager offered me the position of chief engineer. He was not afraid of responsibility: the army taught him to solve problematic issues, and not to dodge them. I have been working for three months now, and there are no problems. The conditions here are good: they don’t offend me in terms of salary, the people are responsive, the machine operators treat me with respect. So everything is fine, - Maxim Kosovich sums up.

Some cows in Dvoretsky already give 8-9 thousand kilograms of milk a year.
