November 17, Brest. Public organizations of the Brest region collect and distribute humanitarian aid to refugees stranded on the Belarusian-Polish border, Nikolai Kuzmitsky, chairman of the regional organization of the Belarusian Red Cross Society, told BelTA.
Every day, the regional office of the BORC receives large and small parcels for migrants who find themselves in a difficult life situation. Thus, the regional association of trade unions bought blankets for them. And branch trade unions directly sent food products to refugees in Grodno. Canned food, bread, MILK and other essential goods are delivered from enterprises and organizations.
“Yesterday we sent 300 full-fledged food packages, brought 80 blankets. We form humanitarian assistance on specific requests that come directly from refugees. We will continue to do this. local authorities," Nikolay Kuzmitsky said.
The primary organization of the BSZh of the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations also joined the charity event. Activists of the organization collected warm clothes, bedding and personal hygiene products for migrants. Today, humanitarian aid was handed over to the regional organization of the Red Cross, whose representatives will ensure their delivery to the refugees. “We cannot be indifferent to the current events and remain indifferent,” said Oksana Koshchevo, chairman of the organization. “People are in trouble. And now it is very important to support them, to help. This is exactly what we did, because our organization is famous for good deeds.”
