The best farmers, livestock breeders, agricultural processors, heads of specialized enterprises and heads of departments from different regions of the country were honored on the eve of the professional holiday at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food. Awards from the government, the Council of the Republic, the Presidential Administration, specialized ministries and departments found their heroes, BELTA reports.

The work of farmers working the land has always been important and in demand for Belarusians, and the current agro-industrial complex is the basis for the stable development of our country. Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Shuleiko emphasized that the tradition of paying tribute to a villager on the occasion of the end of the agricultural season has been widespread among Belarusians since ancient times, noting: "Songs help us build and live, and MEAT and butter give us strength."
"On the chest of your jackets I see well-deserved awards - for the village, for work, for sweat, for sleepless nights, for great MILK , for scientific discoveries and for the future of our livestock farming, crop production, meat and dairy processing," the Deputy Prime Minister addressed the most worthy workers of the agricultural sector. - Our country has ensured its food security and holds all the cards. Now Belarusians can say: "We are well-fed and ready to help you, sell our quality goods." We are a self-sufficient state in food, and this is very important."

Among those being awarded today is the chief researcher of the industry research laboratory "AgroVet" of the Grodno State Agrarian University, Alexander Autko, whoMinister of Agriculture and Food Anatoly Linevich presented a diploma on inclusion on the Honor Board of the best in the industry.

"It is the efforts of agronomists, zootechnicians, veterinarians, managers and ordinary workers that ensure global food security of the country, and impressive EXPORT volumes, and an impressive range of tasty and high-quality products on our tables," Anatoly Linevich noted. "Technologies are rapidly rushing forward. The very system of mechanical impact on the soil is changing. We continue to apply a large number of pesticides for rich harvests, which is certainly necessary, but it is also important to preserve soil fertility - this is the basis, - the scientist explained. - We are looking for ways. Now, for example, we are developing technologies for minimal loosening of the soil, which, in fact, is a living organism, and external mechanical interventions in it are undesirable."

The efforts of scientific thought bring results, and not only theoretical - confirmed in practice. With the help of scientific staff, workers of the Vasilishki agricultural enterprise in the Shchuchin district have been enjoying more than decent harvests for several years. The farm is multi-industry, according to Alexander Autko, in this corner of the Grodno region they grow grain and leguminous crops, and oilseeds, and potatoes , and SUGAR beets, and forage crops, and in addition, they breed pigs and dairy cattle , and harvest fruits and vegetables. "In this largest farm, they made a giant leap in field productivity, switching to no-till soil cultivation and the use of organomineral fertilizers and biopreparations made on an organic basis. Without false modesty, I will note that we, scientists , have also contributed to these agricultural achievements," the expert emphasized.
