MINSK . Despite the difficulties, last year we managed to maintain the positive dynamics of development of the agro-industrial complex of Belarus. Maria Klimova, Deputy
HEAD of the Main Directorate of Processing Industry of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, spoke about this in the BELTA project.
“Despite all the market turbulence and price changes that depend on world markets, we managed to maintain the positive dynamics of development of the entire agro-industrial complex. The main goal of the enterprises is to provide the domestic market, and then
EXPORT surplus products,” noted Maria Klimova. According to her, last year the level of self-sufficiency was 86%. This does not include fish,
fruits and
berries , which cannot be produced in Belarus due to climatic conditions.
As for traditional socially significant products, domestic consumption is fully satisfied, and the remainder is successfully sold for export. “The level of self-sufficiency in
MILK is 267%, in
MEAT and meat products - 133%, in eggs - 126%, in potatoes - 116%. That is, we produce the main types of products in such a volume as to calmly and rhythmically provide for the domestic market. Everyone is focused for this task,” assured Maria Klimova.
The project was created using targeted funds for the production of national content.
