March 3, MINSK. Despite the sanctions , Belarus has increased the EXPORT of dairy products to Europe. First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of Belarus Sergei Fedchenko told reporters during the Second International Forum "Agricultural Belarus. Dairy Farm", BelTA has learned.
"This forum is held in order to popularize our agricultural industry, especially dairy products, both within the country and abroad. Today, Belarus has something to be proud of, we have achieved significant success in dairy farming. Thus, the export of agricultural products in 2022 reached $ 8.3 billion. The increase was almost 30%, and in monetary terms - $ 1.5 billion. This became possible due to the fact that in agriculture, in particular in animal husbandry, we use the most modern production methods," Sergey Fedchenko said.Sergey FedchenkoHe added that there are 1,500 farms in our country with the latest equipment and good conditions for both workers and animals. In addition, according to him, Belarus can fully equip its dairy farms with the equipment that is produced at domestic enterprises.
“I would like to note that despite the sanctions, Belarus has not reduced the export of dairy products either to RUSSIA or to the countries of Western Europe. On the contrary, we have increased exports by 1.5 times to Poland and other EU countries,” the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food emphasized .
Speaking about plans for 2023, he said that the dairy industry is not going to stop there.
“Currently, MILK production in the country has grown by 5% compared to 2022. I am sure that we will continue to increase this production, as well as the export of dairy products outside of Belarus,” Sergey Fedchenko assured.
According to him, the leading positions in milk production are occupied by the Brest region, which this year added 8% to production, Grodno (about 7%) and Minsk (about 5%).
