JSC "Ruzhany-Agro" summed up the results of the outgoing year
More than 31 thousand tons of grain and leguminous crops - this is the result of the 2022 harvesting season shown by the farmers of Ruzhany-Agro OJSC. The most important thing, according to the HEAD, is to treat the work with all responsibility, then there will be a good result.
Human capitalThe agricultural town of Ruzhany, in the Pruzhany district of the Brest region, is well known not only for its palace and park ensemble, but also for its developed agricultural sector. it is here that JSC Ruzhany-Agro is located. The enterprise is considered one of the flagships of the agricultural industry in Belarus. And, as Andrei Burduk, DIRECTOR of Ruzhany-Agro OJSC, notes, this is primarily the merit of the team.
“Our enterprise is rather big, more than 700 people work in it,” the manager introduces. – We have large areas and many production sites. Our farm has 7,100 dairy herds, as well as about 19,000 cattle, including 3,500 fattening bulls. The average daily weight gain, by the way, exceeds a kilogram. We also have a well-represented pig-breeding business – about 22,000 animals in total. This together allows you to get decent results and turn everything into a final product.
2022 turned out to be almost exemplary for farmers from Ruzhany. As a result of harvesting, the weight of the loaf amounted to more than 31 thousand tons of grain and legumes. The indicator became one of the best during the existence of the enterprise. However, Andrei Burduk emphasizes, behind the dry statistics lies the painstaking work of hundreds of people.
- In order for everything to work out in the economy in modern conditions, without our human capital - nowhere. In any industry, be it food security, MEAT production, grain, MILK, herbs, animal feed, it is important to rely on your team. Motivate people, look for those who really burn with work. In our example, we see that this works, - said the director of Ruzhany-Agro OJSC.
Technique in a rowAnd if it becomes quieter in the fields, then in the mechanized yard it is vice versa. Given the scale of the enterprise, there is a lot of equipment here. There are 20 grain harvesters alone. What can we say about energy-saturated tractors, dump trucks ...
“Therefore, high competencies are required for servicing equipment,” explains Denis Sereda, Leading Engineer of Ruzhany-Agro OJSC. – Generally speaking, we don’t have any serious overlays. Spare parts are in abundance, there are enough personnel.
In winter, according to the specialist, mechanics will have a lot of work. In three months it is necessary to prepare all the equipment for field work.
“And we are actively working on it right now. After all, the start of work depends on the weather. If it allows, then in February the equipment should go into the fields. It is impossible to allow it to stand idle for repairs, - emphasizes the lead engineer.
Social guaranteesA wide social package is provided for the Ruzhany-Agro team. By significant dates and anniversaries, employees are encouraged with a cash bonus. By the way, the average salary approached the bar of 1500 rubles. It is possible to place employees in a hostel.
In 2019, the enterprise, together with the local authorities, built a 40-apartment residential building, in which half of the housing belongs to the household. And the workers are provided with delicious food by their own canteens.
Field AccorThe weather this year is unstable. November, according to the temperature regime, turned out to be almost warmer than September. Therefore, even in November, another grass mowing was carried out. On one of the fields we see several crews. Clear and precise movements of the machine operators - and a few minutes later the dump truck with the green mass goes to the place of laying the silo-haylage trench.
“This is the fourth grass mowing this year,” says machine operator Alexander Kvachenyuk. - We work hard. You need to have time to clean everything before the onset of cold weather, otherwise the herbs will lose their beneficial properties. From the outside, our work may seem monotonous, but it is interesting and dynamic. I will say a banal thing, but I personally go to work as if it were a holiday! There are conditions for the implementation and earning money. And with such colleagues as in Ruzhany, things are arguable.
APPLE to appleAn apple orchard is spread over more than a hundred hectares. Near it is a specialized storage.
- This year we have collected quite a serious harvest - just over 2,600 tons of apples, - says the head of the orchard Olga Gaiduk. - Our apple is marketable. Some of it is sold on the local market, some is exported to the Russian Federation. We supply it for processing to domestic factories. Juices and other useful products are made from our fruits.
The main advantage of Ruzhansky bulk is naturalness and environmental friendliness. Only natural fertilizers are used. Unlike foreign analogues, the fruit does not have a characteristic wax coating on the surface.
- Separately, it is worth noting our fruit storage. It is designed to store 3 thousand tons of apples. There is also a special line for sorting fruits. Every day we are able to sort up to 15 tons of fruits. That is, there is enough work all year round,” notes the head of the orchard.
The storage is modern. Thanks to the equipment and the created microclimate, apples can remain in their marketable form for up to six months.
- Which gives us a certain advantage over many other manufacturers, - summarized Olga Gaiduk.
Ruzhany - a sign of qualityThe enterprise has a wide base for the processing of raw materials. It operates its own feed mill with a production capacity of 20 tons per hour of loose or 15 tons per hour of granulated feed. There is also a meat-packing shop, the products of which are successfully sold in Ruzhany, as well as in Slonim, where the Ruzhanski pachastunak company store operates.
The average yield of cereals and legumes in 2022 for the farm is 49.7 q/ha. And the increase in gross harvest compared to 2021 amounted to 12 thousand tons.
