Consumer Service supports the adoption of bill No. 5148 on improving the quality and safety of baby food

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in the first reading adopted bill No. 5148, which will improve the legal regulation of issues related to the safety and quality of baby food.

In addition, the adoption of the bill will improve the quality of food products, reduce the incidence of the population and harmonize Ukrainian legislation in the field of baby food with the requirements of the legislation of the Member States of the European Union.

“The State Food and Consumer Service supports the adoption of bill No. 5148. I consider it very important for preserving the HEALTH of our children and the nation as a whole. This is a step forward in ensuring the safety of children's nutrition according to the latest global trends. Already about ten EU countries have legally regulated the use of trans fats,” said Vladislava Magaletska, Chairman of the State Food and Beverage Service.

The bill provides for the following changes:
