January 27, MINSK. Belarus can meet most of Syria's needs for engineering products. This was stated by the Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko during a meeting with the Minister of Public Works and Housing of Syria Suheil Abed al-Latif, BelTA has learned.
“Belarus and Syria have long been linked by strong relations of friendship and cooperation. We have never been indifferent to what is happening in Syria and in the most difficult times we have always been there and expressed support for the Syrian people. unprecedented international pressure and establish a peaceful life, restore the country," said Roman Golovchenko.

This is the restoration of the country's infrastructure and economy, the need to find resources that will finance these important projects for the country. Based on our many years of cooperation experience, we are confident that Belarus can meet most of Syria's needs for products engineering, passenger, agricultural, cargo, construction equipment. We understand that it is necessary to find schemes that will allow financing joint projects," the Prime Minister said.
According to Roman Golovchenko, it is necessary to move in two directions. First, to organize framework or umbrella agreements at the government level, to determine the basic schemes for organizing joint work. The second level is already the level of business, which, on the basis of these agreements, must build mutually beneficial and safe schemes for their implementation.The Prime Minister outlined the prospects for cooperation in the areas of healthcare, education and science. "Belarus has provided and continues to provide humanitarian assistance to Syria. Under the patronage of the President, a program to improve the HEALTH of Syrian children has been implemented for many years. Over the past 5 years, more than 1,000 Syrian children have rested in Belarus. We are ready to continue humanitarian cooperation and, if such requests are made, we will we will consider options for further humanitarian assistance," he added.
Suheil Abed al-Latif stressed that Syria is proud of its friendship with Belarus. "The Syrian government highly appreciates the position of Belarus in regard to the struggle of the Syrian people against terrorism over the past 10 years, appreciates the support of the Belarusian side within the framework of international organizations and platforms," he said.

The main positions of Belarusian exports were medicines, condensed and dry MILK and cream, milk whey. The basis of imports of goods from Syria were fabrics made of synthetic multifilament yarns, OLIVE OIL, fruits, nuts prepared or otherwise preserved, coffee, seeds of anise, star anise, fennel, coriander, cumin, juniper berries.
