February 13,
MINSK . The possibility of using exchange trading as a channel for deliveries of Belarusian agricultural products to Nigeria and other West African countries was discussed at the business forum "Belarus - Nigeria: Direct Dialogue" organized by the National Center for Marketing and Price Study. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent in the press service of BUCE.
At the event, promising areas of cooperation between the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange and the business community of Nigeria were presented and bilateral talks were held with companies interested in working on the exchange platform.
Following the forum, a number of representatives of Nigerian businesses expressed a desire to visit BUCE for a more detailed acquaintance with the exchange's activities and to work out the issue of purchasing Belarusian rapeseed oil and dry
MILK. As noted by the press service of BUCE,
products of the oil and fat and dairy industries are among the most popular commodity items among foreign participants in the trades, and the Nigerian market, given its capacity and purchasing power, is of considerable interest to Belarusian exporters.
"Last year, the share of rapeseed oil and dry milk in the total volume of agricultural exports was 16% and 12%, respectively. The main buyers of oil were
Switzerland , Estonia and Lithuania, while
milk was mainly supplied to
RUSSIA,
CHINA and Poland. Accreditation of Nigerian companies on the exchange platform will allow domestic producers to expand the geography of exports and establish regular deliveries to this promising market without any additional costs. At the same time, the exchange will provide full support for transactions and monitor their execution," BUCE said.
