July 14, MINSK. The Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange will provide a single sales and purchase channel for agricultural producers in Belarus and the Voronezh region, BelTA learned from the press service of the BUCE.
"Food products and raw materials account for almost half of the total exports of the Voronezh region. In Belarus, the share of agriculture in exports is also significant - about 20%. At the same time, our country is traditionally one of the three largest trade and economic partners of your region. Therefore, I am sure that it is the products of the agro-industrial complex that will become the driver for the growth of exchange trade between Belarus and the Voronezh region," said Andrey Novikov, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of BUCE, during a business forum organized by the EXPORT Support Center of the Voronezh Region.
The representative of the exchange also stressed that it is about mutual trade, since both sides have something to offer each other. “Belarusian agricultural enterprises actively use the exchange platform to supply MILK powder and cream, butter, MEAT and leather products to various regions of RUSSIA. At the same time, oilseed meals, feed additives, cereals and grains are always in demand on the Belarusian market, and the Voronezh region is just is one of the leaders in this segment. That is, such cooperation is beneficial to both parties. In this context, the exchange can become a single sales and procurement channel for Belarusian and Voronezh producers of agricultural products. For this, we have everything you need: experience, infrastructure, customer base and tools to control the execution of transactions," said Andrey Novikov.
JSC "Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange" was established in 2004. The first auction took place in June 2005. BUCE is one of the largest commodity exchanges in Eastern Europe. The main function of the exchange is to assist Belarusian enterprises in exporting products and to help foreign companies enter the Belarusian market.
