April 2, MINSK. Food security is fully ensured in Belarus. This was stated by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Igor Brylo on the air of the YouTube channel "Main. Tour", BelTA informs.

The HEAD of department gave a concrete example. With an average per capita MILK consumption in the Eurasian Economic Union and the CIS in the region of 200 kg per person per year, Belarus produces 828 kg per capita. This is approximately 4-5th place in the world. Almost 65% of all milk produced in the country is exported. More than 35% of the total volume of MEAT produced is also exported.

"I think it's stupid to say whether we will be able to feed our people. And this (EXPORT - approx. BelTA) is not to the detriment. That is, we have fully ensured food security," the minister stressed.

He also noted that the range of domestic products goes off scale for 1.5 thousand dairy and 1 thousand meat items. "There is no tension here," Igor Brylo assured.

"As for the vegetable group - cabbage, potatoes, a number of other such areas - then, in principle, we never set ourselves the goal of, say, 100% supply of the domestic market. So we never had a question. We always imported these positions a little ", - said the head of the department.

Nevertheless, according to him, the country is fully provided for in the main positions, plans for investing in stabilization funds are increasing. "We have planned 100,000 tons of potatoes for stabilization funds next year. We are doubling them. This year we had to pledge about 50,000 tons. We produced about 900,000 tons of potatoes (only in agricultural organizations and farms, in while about 5 million tons of potatoes are harvested annually in the personal farms of citizens. - Note by BelTA).In the first two months (2022. - Note by BelTA), we sold almost 200 thousand tons to the Russian Federation," Igor Brylo emphasized .

At the same time, he acknowledged that "we have nuances in the green." "These are all kinds of cabbages, broccoli of different names ... We have small nuances in terms of fruits that we do not produce. But nevertheless," he said.
